YouTube registered a huge drop that ended up affecting millions of users, who had to wait hours to watch videos on the platform.

It reached more than 55 million people 18 years of age or older in Mexico, 20 million in Colombia and 10 million in Chile and Peru until August 2020.

Television is the fastest growing device when it comes to viewing content on the platform, with a 250% growth in the hours viewed of live content.
The world turned its attention to YouTube as it was down for almost two hours in which the platform could not be used. Through social networks, digital users from all over the world expressed that the platform did not allow watching videos, or even entering.
The DownDetector site revealed that the problems on YouTube began at 5:46 p.m. and that 95 percent of the complaints focus on failures to watch videos, 2 percent are about no access to the site and 1 percent about not being able to upload content.
Among the countries affected by the failure are Peru, Brazil, Argentina, the United States, Spain, France, Germany, Colombia, Australia, Mexico, among others.
Finally, the platform has been restored, but previously he spoke on his official Twitter account about his efforts to solve the problems that had the world without video channels: “If you have problems watching videos on YouTube right now, you are not alone. – Our team is aware of the problem and is working to fix it. We will continue here with the updates “
