Mexico DF.- Starting this December, Heineken puts on the shelves globally a commemorative special edition box with four bottles specifically designed to celebrate its 140 years of history. For the design of one of them, he convened through his fanpage On Facebook, designers from all over the world face the challenge through a virtual contest. Thus, among the more than 30 thousand designs received from a hundred countries on the five continents, a Mexican, Rodolfo Kuzulas He made a dumbbell with the Australian Lee Dunford, to be winner of the challenge.
Brand Director in Mexico Franco María Maggi stated: “The winning design creates a vibrant and inspiring visual representation that we are very excited to bring to consumers in our limited edition anniversary.” Evan Orensten, co-founder and executive editor of Cool Hunting; Mark Dytham, co-founder of the global creative network PechaKucha and Mark van Iterson, global director of design for the brand, were the members of the jury that qualified the works and selected the winning couple. The decision was influenced by the creativity of the participants, that the design was in accordance with the identity of the brand and the ability shown by the competitors to find the necessary affinity to integrate a proposal.

Winners: Rodolfo Kusulas, born in Zacatecas, based in Monterrey; He is 23 years old, studying the last semester of the degree in Industrial Design at Tec de Monterrey. Lee Dunford, Australian; is a packaging designer.
Design Description: On the front of the bottle appears the red star, the brand’s icon, made up of the five continents (Mexican design); the Australian design is used on the back, which is distinguished by a large number of stars in different sizes and green tones.
Prize: Publication of your design in the commemorative edition of Heineken’s 140th Anniversary that is marketed worldwide. An all-paid trip to the Heineken Star Final 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Mechanics: In December 2011 Heineken launched, through its official Facebook page, the call for designers from around the world to come together to create their commemorative bottle. Couples of designers, unknown to each other, around the world, connected digitally and submitted their proposals. Among them, three finalists were selected to present their designs through a virtual conference.
